Memoir

In LIFE,
FOCUS on the PLAN and not on the RESULT,
VALUE the METHOD and not the RESULT,
REWARD for the EFFORT and not the RESULT,
Because,
You can set your GOALS but not the RESULTS.
So,
Just don’t see DREAMS also set GOALS.
And,
Then follow these GOALS
Till,
You DIE

Journey so far...

I grew up in a low-income family in suburban Mumbai, with no savings or assets of my parents to fall back on. Their biggest worry wasn’t security, but how to give me a good education—something that kept them up at night.

With public education caught in political turmoil, my parents had no choice but to pursue costly private schooling—a daunting dream rather than a hopeful one. That challenge became the starting point for my parents’ journey from making an ordinary boy to an exceptional human being I am today..

Childhood years…

As a child, I was nothing like what my parents hoped—unfocused in class, carefree about my parent’s worries, and known more for play than study. I grew into one of the laziest, most notorious kids in school, repeatedly failing exams and eventually an entire year. That setback brought me undesirable labels and constant criticism, branding me a “failure” and leaving deep scars that stayed with me for years.

My mother once told me, “You gave everyone the chance to tag and treat you as a failure—only you can change it.” Her words stayed with me, sparking my first realization that I needed to become a better version of myself each day, even if I wasn’t yet ready to act on it.

Teenage Years...

Life grew tougher when my secondary and higher-secondary results couldn’t secure me a good college, and my family lacked the funds to bridge the gap to put me to a good graduate school.

Yet, before discouragement could set in, I began exploring every possible path—traditional or not—to keep my education alive, ultimately finding a way to pursue the field of science and then a professional degree at a reputed institution in the coming years.

I undertook a modest job to finance my undergraduate education and successfully saw it through, supported along the way by the generosity of a few relatives who helped with books, travel, and other essential expenses.

At times, I leaned on family, borrowed from friends, skipped every school outing, and even resorted to ticketless travel—stretching every rupee just to manage the demands of studying and working at the same time.

Discipline...

I grew up with strong values and a sense of purpose, but I struggled with focus and goal-setting. My parents repeated one lesson daily—discipline—though I didn’t know how to apply it.

My mother finally challenged me to cut out every distraction and devote my time only to what truly mattered—learning. I agreed, committing to disciplined, meaningful learning from my work and studies throughout my undergraduate years. That shift ignited my passion for learning and transformed me into a lifelong learner with a growth mindset to keep evolving forever.

In time, I realized that chasing success and perfection leads nowhere, but pursuing excellence leads everywhere—and the only real “magic” behind that truth was discipline, improvisation and enjoyment in learning and implementing the knowledge.

Implementer...

In the years that followed, my commitment to continuous learning led me to complete my undergraduate studies, pursue a master’s degree, and undertake advanced specializations and certifications in Product Management, Customer and User Experience, IT Service Management, Product and Program Management, Project Management, and Agile Delivery. This sustained pursuit of knowledge deepened my understanding across every dimension of my work and strengthened the quality, precision, and impact of my implementation with each endeavor.

With each effort to improve, I translated new knowledge into meaningful, practical impact—applying it with discipline and purpose, and steadily evolving into a seasoned and effective implementer.

To deepen my understanding of strategy, finance, organizational design, and program leadership, I pursued and successfully completed advanced executive education in Strategic Project Management at IIM Calcutta. This experience further strengthened my rigor as an implementer and enhanced my ability to serve with greater clarity, purpose, discipline, and impact.

Serve…

Inspired by my parents—who extended help to those struggling for life’s basic necessities even when they themselves had limited resources—I learned early the value of giving, regardless of how little one possesses. From a young age, I began engaging in social service, guided by their belief that serving people is, in essence, serving the nation and serving God. This belief also touched my habit of continuous learning and implementing and so made me serve with my practical knowledge to others around me.

Working with government bodies, NGOs, and nonprofit organizations—serving those in need and those lacking access to knowledge—gradually became second nature to me. These experiences shaped me deeply, grounding my perspective in humanity and responsibility. To this day, I approach every engagement with a sincere intention to serve first and create meaningful value next.

In extending my commitment to service, I dedicate a portion of my income to providing meals for those who cannot afford a daily one. I aspire to grow this effort over time, carrying forward my parents’ dream of supporting the poor and the hungry on a broader and more sustainable scale.

Smiles...

I enjoy working as a startup founder and collaborating with fellow founders because they are natural problem-solvers committed to addressing real-world and sustainability challenges. This passion took me to Draper University in Silicon Valley (US), where I observed that many founders had strong ideas but lacked the technical and managerial skills to execute them—a gap I recognized in myself as well, prompting me to pursue formal entrepreneurial studies.

To test my impact, I began learning in focused increments and mentoring driven individuals and early-stage founders, soon realizing there was no single, affordable platform offering practical, execution-oriented knowledge. That insight led me to launch services designed to meaningfully support startup builders.

At Draper, I gained more than lessons—I built lasting relationships within an extraordinary entrepreneurial community defined by encouragement, inspiration, and generosity. Tim Draper (Investor in SpaceX, Twitter, Tesla) exemplified a rare blend of visionary boldness and genuine human warmth, demonstrating the true spirit and dynamics of Silicon Valley’s startup ecosystem and elevating our ventures in the process.

It was there that my friend Don Stein gave me the nickname “Smiles”—a reflection of the optimism I maintained through challenges and a lighthearted alternative to my name, Harsh, which means happiness in Sanskrit. That experience left a lasting impression and reinforced a deeper realization: positivity is not merely an emotion—it is a powerful force in leadership.

Facilitator...

Challenges were constant, and progress was often slow, yet I chose to keep smiling—whether building relationships, stepping into leadership roles, navigating complexities, rising to executive levels, or coaching and mentoring others. The value of never giving up, instilled in me by my parents, remained unwavering. It carried me through a near-fatal accident, job loss, office politics, a broken personal relationship, and a battle with obesity—transforming me from a heavy frame to a lean one. These experiences strengthened me as a leader and shaped me into a more empathetic and effective facilitator for others navigating challenges in their lives, careers, and entrepreneurial journeys.

In every challenge—financial, personal, or professional—I chose to approach each situation and individual with respect, seeking solutions that served all involved without allowing my own difficulties to cloud my judgment, while keeping my mindsets and attitudes centered. This approach shaped me into an Experiential Leadership® practitioner—more than a facilitator, beyond fragmented roles—offering leadership through vision, presence, and lived example.

Learner...

My sincere gratitude to the IT, software technology, and e-commerce industries for presenting a world of complexity and challenge—providing me with the opportunity to execute, evolve, and develop the depth of expertise required to bring Experiential Leadership® into action and create meaningful value through the services I offer.

My corporate journey began early and from the ground up as a trainee. Though many doubted me—from my school years through my professional career—I chose to transform every challenge into a lesson, embracing multiple roles along the way. This path eventually led me to executive leadership and to founding and leading my own company as CEO, shaping me into the dynamic entrepreneur I am today—and quietly proving that those doubts were unfounded.

Driven by my passion as an executive and entrepreneur—and by a sustained commitment to innovation that supports startups and scaleups—I applied to HEC Paris and successfully completed an Executive Master’s in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. This experience further shaped me into a disciplined learner who transforms data into actionable insight, develops practical frameworks to use with AI, and offers strategic consulting services. I interpret information through experiential intelligence and apply it thoughtfully, always striving for outcomes that serve both others and myself.
