In LIFE, FOCUS on the PLAN and not on the RESULT, VALUE the METHOD and not the RESULT, REWARD for the EFFORT and not the RESULT, Because, You can set your GOALS but not the RESULTS. So, Just don’t see DREAMS also set GOALS. And, Then follow these GOALS Till, You DIE
- Harsh Sanghvi
Journey so far...
Harsh was born to a lower middle class family in the suburbs of Mumbai in India, who did not have any savings and assets to provide security to their kid but that was the least which made them worry but how to ensure good education for their kid made them have sleepless nights.
As public education was a victim under the tyranny of political gambit in India, his parents never had it as an alternative. So wishing a good education for their kid was more of a nightmare than a beautiful dream as they had to choose for an expensive affair of sending their kid to a private school. This marked the beginning of Harsh’s story of being an ordinary boy to becoming an exemplary human being!
Childhood years…
In his childhood Harsh was opposite to the expectations of his parents as he was a dull boy who did not pay any attention in the classrooms as well as worries of his parents so what all had to say for him was ‘All play and no study makes Harsh a happy boy’. This was not the end of it for his parents as they endured the pain of his kid being one of the most lazy and notorious children in the school who flunked many exams and finally also flunked a year to repeat it. Failing for a year in his school welcomed impertinent comments from all around and a new label was affixed to him; Failure. Such a disgrace continued for a long time and tore Harsh apart.
Harsh’s mother told him one simple thing but a very important message ‘’You gave everyone a chance to do this to you and only you can change it’’ This message from his mothers remained with him forever and that gave him his first realization of being improved version of himself every day but back then he could not do much about it.
Teenage Years...
Life for him became more difficult when he could not achieve a great deal in his secondary and higher secondary exams which could not fetch him any good higher education where he could pursue his studies nor his parents had enough money to get him good education but before its impact could affect him negatively, he had already begun searching for every conventional and unconventional option to continue his studies which helped him to pursue his professional degree.
Harsh started seeking a decent job where he could earn some money to finance his undergraduate studies and he was successful in doing so while there were other few generous sources from relatives who poured money for Harsh to purchase his books, arrange his commutation and other expenses.
He sometimes took help from family, borrowed resources from friends, saying no to every school picnic and many times used cheap tricks of traveling without a ticket to manage his daily financial challenges while working and studying together.
Discipline...
Harsh had learnt great life values from his parents which always made him believe that he is here for a bigger purpose but he lacked the focus to envision and achieve goals, for which his parents never gave up on the efforts to replay one lesson everyday for him; have discipline in everything you do but Harsh was clueless how to do so. To help him gain discipline his mother rose and challenged him if he could just stop all those activities which were taking away his precious time and not letting him focus and then devoting his time to only those tasks which are meaningful and manage it well on and in time. To this, Harsh bowed down and kept doing justice by being disciplined in his productive tasks over a long period of time during his undergraduate studies which made Harsh passionate about learning and its positive result could speak for itself, growing and transformed him into a life-long learner with a forever learning mentality.
Eventually it made him believe that ‘’ If you follow success you will lose, but if you follow excellence then you will always win ‘’ There was no magic stick for this miracle but discipline.
Implementer...
His zeal for more learning endeavors in various but related areas of information technology landed him to pursue his masters and then take up the journey of the most exciting super specialization studies in Customer and User Experience, IT Service Management, Product Management, Program Management, Project Management and Agile Deliveries which gave him more insightful understanding about the work he did.
In a short time he could leverage this information to work better using this new knowledge and skills acquired from it; this made him a natural implementer.
In continuation to quench his thirst of deep learning of concepts in strategic management, project financing, startup financing, organizational design, leadership design and financial structure, Harsh picked up his advanced executive education in strategic project management and completed successfully.
Serve…
Harsh was always motivated by his parents who served people toiling for basics of life and was taught to be benevolent in giving even when you may not have much for yourself and to call it an action Harsh started offering social services from very early ages of his life. His parents were able to carve it well in his mind that serving people would be serving the nation, serving God and Harsh could do his best to realize it by working for government departments, NGOs and non-profit institutions. This experience changed him forever and today he engages with many with the deep willingness to serve in the first place and then looks forward to making any value for himself.
He has set apart a charity amount from his income to feed those who are hungry and cannot afford food on a daily basis and wishes to do much more than what he can do now which will also achieve his parent’s dreams to help the needy and poor on large scales.
Smiles...
Harsh loves to connect with startups and individuals who want to solve problems with amazing solutions and products and it was very soon back at his startup school, he had realized startups founders may have great ideas but would face difficulties due to lack of real skills to address their technology and management needs which gave birth to his wish to do something for filling up this gap. To be sure if he can really make a difference he started offering advisory, mentoring and consulting services to motivated individuals and curious startup founders to see what it brings back to him and that uncovered the fact that there is no single destination for these startups to gain real knowledge and build new skills, on specific topics in a convenient and economic way and this reality made him ran to launch services which believed by him to do some good for these startup champs.
In his startup school, Harsh earned more friends and relationships than new insights. They all made him feel complete and made Harsh find himself again with a new zeal to to be more related to the startup tribe becoming another reason for Harsh to keep smiling.
Having gleamed every time and to see the most beautiful thing on his face in any situation, his friends proudly gifted him his new name ‘Smiles’ which he carries along even today as a matter of pride and completeness of his being.
Facilitator...
There was never a dearth of challenges but Harsh continued smiling all along the way to pursue what it took to win best out of every relationship, to be in the leadership bandwagon and now to be in the executive class. His values and vision which he had learned from his parents never faded out and so he could keep rowing his boat even when he met with a fatal accident and had to fight obesity, transforming himself from a hefty piece of flesh to a lean body
In every trouble, from financial to personal to professional Harsh attended every issue with due respect to the situation and people associated with it and promised to arrange solutions which worked for all and this very approach evolved him into an amazing facilitator.
Learner...
Harsh is happy to be in software technology and e-commerce space due to a variety of reasons but he could not thank enough for the roles which were trusted upon him and to those who helped him leverage opportunities for transitioning from one profile to another while making him go through the constant learning process
The corporate journey for him started very early, from the very scratch and there were and are many to throw bricks at him but he built his world out of it by absorbing lessons learnt from those experiences which made him wear multiple hats at one given time making him a dynamic intrapreneur today!
Given Harsh’s well-tuned way of grabbing knowledge and sharing it with others, he is a seasoned learner who believes everything gets started with data which he uses together as information, interprets it diligently as knowledge and applies it with wisdom of logical reasoning for the good of everyone.
Achiever…
His simple yet empathetic approach towards everything makes it possible for him to render his services at different capacities to supply motivation, direction, channelize efforts, deliver products, improve experience and to chalk out roadmaps for many to lead them to achieve their personal and professional ambitions. Harsh has been working with startups, governments, global, multinational and nationalized organizations of different sizes in different geographies which paved his way to be a more culturally sensitive and inquisitive person.
He has set amazing goals for himself and helps others to do so. He follows excellence and so everything follows him to join his journey to motivate, encourage, help and serve every other who is in need of personal and professional guidance. If asked about a success mantra for such an accomplished life and career, Harsh would undoubtedly say Winners Never Quit, Quitters Never Win!
